How much do you charge?

From $1.5 to 2.0 per page. The price will increase if the manga is unusually wordy or if it will require additional image editing due to text style (text directly on image). The full cost of translation must be paid before I begin working on it. Larger works can be broken into parts and worked on separately if you prefer.

Transactions will be done via paypal.

What do you translate?

Japanese to English for manga. I mostly get commission requests for adult content, though.

How long do you take?

Depends. If it's a short chapter, I can get it done in a day or two if there aren't anything else in my backlog.

*Beatmania sure has changed over the years. I like how the character art went from this:

to this:

not that I mind, tho (ps: it's the same person)

The last art had an official figure of it made by Konami too (and in very limited quantity, released sometime last year). Click to see said figure. Two other Beatmania IIDX figures were featured on the same site, too.

**speaking of Beatmania, look at this sexy Beatmania IIDX controller:

  2. Thanks, desu2 and Niagatrats for a fine doujinshi. Two excellent translations of one fine work. Comparing notes during Comiket season sounds like a good idea, actually.

  3. Heh, I knew this one would get over-scanlated, but I didn't expect two of them released within hours XD

  4. I'm still downloading this version, cos you're a bro, bro.

  5. I always find it kinda interesting when there two translations of the same thing so I can compare the differences. I know that the commissioners and translators *hate* when this happens though.

  6. Many thanx Desu and Iagatrats.

  7. Setebos maybe consider waiting a few weeks so the rush rush commissioners can get their stuff done immediately and you can save some money on the double commissions!

  11. My god, its a fucking platora (sp?) of fetishes all dumped into some sort of dress that makes no sense.

    Seriously, it looks ridiculous.

  12. Ah that beatmania controller i greatest. The arkade machine and that controller is the only thing i can play with, the standard ps2 controller is horrible.

  13. Those DJ Ning controllers look swell, though tbh DJ Dao's controllers appear to be just the same and cheaper.

  15. Rwr4539: yeah, I know. I'm still reluctant to pour so much money on a real DJ Dao controller tho (fucking $350 without shipping, jesus christ. what am I to do if the buttons or turntable breaks down? D:). Am planning to keep playing on my Konami official Controller (aka KOC?) until I get good/hooked enough to justify spending that much on a silly box with LED buttons.

    Fronzel: because IT SELLS! ヽ( ゚ヮ゚ )ノ

  16. There's no need to get a ASC if you think it's too expensive. It's still very doable to pass 12s on a KOC. I've been playing for about 4 years, started to clear 12s, and only now have I started to consider buying an ASC.

I'd actually wait until Konami announces plans for the next home release seeing as there will be no more PS2 IIDX games. Dao did say that he would change PCBs accordingly once the next game is out.
And the FP7 much more reasonably priced. The turntable is just smaller, but the spacing is still the same as the arcade.
