How much do you charge?

From $1.5 to 2.0 per page. The price will increase if the manga is unusually wordy or if it will require additional image editing due to text style (text directly on image). The full cost of translation must be paid before I begin working on it. Larger works can be broken into parts and worked on separately if you prefer.

Transactions will be done via paypal.

What do you translate?

Japanese to English for manga. I mostly get commission requests for adult content, though.

How long do you take?

Depends. If it's a short chapter, I can get it done in a day or two if there aren't anything else in my backlog.

*why is Robert Downey Jr so awesome? Dude's a white American guy who plays as an Australian who plays as a black man soldier dude in Trophic Thunder. My head was blown away when I heard about this.

An actor who plays an actor who plays a character in a movie, sure is yo dawg in here

  4. Popular blogger gains sudden interest in holywood films. Seems someone has been smoking a lot lately.

  5. You never saw Tropic Thunder? For shame.

  6. He also does a kick ass job in Iron Man (if you haven't seen it yet, stop everything you are doing and go fucking watch it), and he is currently playing Sherlock Holmes in a movie where he may be the star, but Jude Law/Watson is actually a bad-ass character in his own right.

  7. Zathael: are you kidding me? There's no way anyone would've yet to watch Iron Man. I enjoyed his role in Holmes very much too, so much that I even watched it twice =o

  9. @Desudesu: Robert Downey JR is very very awesome. So is avatar. So is watching Holmes + Avatar back to back.

Funny how much Robert Downey JR has grown since... say... Ally McBeal. Because I hated him in that....

    Anyways... Ironman 2 "soon" :squeeeeeeee:

  11. Avatar is great! But watching it in 3D was my biggest mistake... The stupid goggles spoilt my whole experience of enjoying the awesome movie...

PS: By the way, the Avatar pic was moe~~

  14. I love that picture. RDJ looks so damn stoned.

Although, I should get around to seeing Iron Man some time. I hear it's the second best comic book movie ever made after The Dark Knight.

As for Avatar, SHIT SUX. That movie was a gigantic, flaming piece of crap. I would have asked for my money back if someone else hadn't bought the ticket for me. Pretty visuals and a complete failure in every other respect

  15. @Ode to Joy
...eh? people say that The Dark Knight is the best comic book movie adaptation ever? ...that's the biggest piece of bullshit i've heard in a while. =\
Iron Man is definitely good though

and perhaps the reason why you didn't like Avatar was because you were expecting something different? cause until i saw it, i didn't realize it was a romance-drama ._.
i thought it was well-done, for a movie

i suppose you and i just have different tastes in movies

  16. Well, it was little else aside from pretty visuals... But good God were they pretty visuals xD

I didnt really care much about the 'plot', such that it was, with all that beatiful eye-candy (hologram monitors deserve spcecial mention) though I think I remember it sucking a bit.

I DO remember being sorta peeved that we had those floating islands... and then no explanation for them. EVEN ON A PLANET WITH LOW GRAVITY, WHY ARE FUCKING ROCKS FLOATING?!

What was wrong with your 3d goggles kaiser?
Unless it was something pretty awful, the movie wasnt really worth seeing in 2d xD

    ReplyDelete
  17. sure there was an explanation. some biological organism was warping certain laws of physics within a undefined radius of itself

it doesn't sound too bad to me considering how much worse i've heard =\

  19. he IS a dude playing a dude disguised as another dude. That takes talent even if you can only grammatically understand what he's saying.

  20. RDJ turned Sherlock Holmes into a British Kung Fu Ninja Iron Maniac.

    I am fine with this.

  21. "I DO remember being sorta peeved that we had those floating islands… and then no explanation for them. EVEN ON A PLANET WITH LOW GRAVITY, WHY ARE FUCKING ROCKS FLOATING?!"

Should have paid a bit more attention to the little things. The explanation can be found in a subtle scene with the floating piece of unobtanium held by the CEO in his office.

I.e. "Unobtanium" (the mineral the humans are after) is a room temperature superconductor, and is therefore magnetic. The floating rocks were laced with it. Opposing polarities, alongside the low-gravity environment, made them able to float.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Ah crap, I realized that sounded stupid, what with people asking next, "then why didn't the choppers stick to them"? And not being a physicist, I don't know exactly why :P

Suffice to say, superconducting materials tend to display unusual magnetic properties (not necessarily of the ferrous kind). So here's a video of a frog floating because of a superconductor: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1vyB-O5i6E&feature=PlayList&p=8E7ED16454FE1C63&index=0

  23. it's funny how everyone who posted missed the point of the Avatar drawing: how much Avatar looked like anime and how much the characters themselves looked anime like with their anime eyes.

  24. Everybody knows you never go full retard, man.

Check it out. Dustin Hoffman, 'Rain Man,' look retarded, act retarded, not retarded. Counted toothpicks, cheated cards. Autistic, sho'. Not retarded. You know Tom Hanks, 'Forrest Gump.' Slow, yes. Retarded, maybe. Braces on his legs. But he charmed the pants off Nixon and won a ping-pong competition. That ain't retarded. Peter Sellers, "Being There." Infantile, yes. Retarded, no. You went full retard, man. Never go full retard. You don't buy that? Ask Sean Penn, 2001, "I Am Sam." Remember? Went full retard ..--went home empty handed...
