Just a couple of hours ago, I was driving around with a friend of mine, and my sedan was hit by a speeding incoming bike that came out of nowhere as I made a turn. The left back section of my car was crushed. It was so bad, the wheel rim was bent out of shape and the car couldn't move at all. The impact had also sent the biker flying, and (from what I heard) broke his leg in the process. The guy's bike was totally thrashed as well.
For the first time in my life, I feel genuinely scared. My heart was racing when I went over and saw the biker writhing in pain, and I pretty much went unconscious and fainted with all the possible outcome (mostly bad ones) of this accident flashing in my head.
Had the car towed away, made a police report, though from what I noticed, the situation doesn't look good for me. Even the sergeant muttered that I was the one at fault in this accident (this is my first major accident in my 4+ years of driving), though I sure hope it doesn't turn out that way. I swear, the guy appeared out of nowhere and rammed into us.
I'm crossing my fingers real hard and touching insane amount of wood right now (oh god oh god please don't let it end with me getting arrested or fined a ridiculous amount of money, or even both). Here's to hoping everything goes well in the end. I can't thank my friends (you know who you are) and my parents enough for the support and words of encouragement. I was genuinely freaked out when it all happened, I couldn't even think straight. In fact, I think I experienced PTSD just a few moments ago. I couldn't stop crying and feel real shitty, and I wasn't sure why.
I guess this is what it means to be human.
*I'm not even sure if I should write about things like this on the site, but I really had to let it out.
*update 17th Dec: turns out the guy's leg wasn't broken after all. His leg was twisted though (but I guess that's better than having a broken leg, right, right?). Also, thank god I (or rather, my car) was covered by insurance, and they're gonna have an attorney to represent me if it ever ends that way. The car's gonna be out of commission for one whole month, though. Now I'm waiting for the police's investigation to see who was at fault in the accident D:
