How much do you charge?

From $1.5 to 2.0 per page. The price will increase if the manga is unusually wordy or if it will require additional image editing due to text style (text directly on image). The full cost of translation must be paid before I begin working on it. Larger works can be broken into parts and worked on separately if you prefer.

Transactions will be done via paypal.

What do you translate?

Japanese to English for manga. I mostly get commission requests for adult content, though.

How long do you take?

Depends. If it's a short chapter, I can get it done in a day or two if there aren't anything else in my backlog.

unknown artist - last

Here's one for the day, brought to you by Whyld. Some sort of short H-manga by some unknown mangaka about a single dad treating his daughter as his little pet.

those nipple chains! щ(゚Д゚щ)

Oh, and the girl was made into a public toilet in the end.

**let's all read this thought-provoking article and comment:

I really feel that much of modern Japanese culture is in response to being seen for so many years as being far too majime (you know, the salaried overworked Japanese businessman with no life?).

The obsession with cuteness, the infantilized sexual culture (I don't even mean manga; even the kind of porn that Westerners can relate to generally feature women gasping in extremely high-pitched voiced, like they just finished sucking down a balloon-full of helium), all of it seems to be a self-conscious response to far too many years of not having ANY fun, of being too grown up.

It's the same way that American macho-ism ("I like my trucks BIG and my beers the same; and my steak, I like to kill it with my own HANDS") is very much a response to what Americans saw as the sissification of their country due to the loss of the Vietnam war and the peace-n-love movements. I find it equally bizarre and equally false.

  1. Yo desudesu.
Don't got a lot to say for this release but thanks for your touhou doujins~
I was wondering if you were soon going to make a new batch torrent since the last one is from April last year. It seems like I missed some releases way back so I thought a batch should fix that up. Even if some of the releases aren't to my taste many are, so thanks.

  2. haha, that video was pretty good. Parody of NamcoXCapcom's opening video but done pretty well.

  3. >The obsession with cuteness, the infantilized sexual culture

People always act like that's something extraordinary on a global scale even though the truth is that pretty much all western industrialized Nations went down the pedo-path during the 70s and participated in an infantilized sexual culture for a while. The difference is really only how things developed from the 80s onwards. Europe had a backslash and condemed it (while fucking kids in Ex-communist countries), America seemed to move it out of the public into the personal or interfamiliar level with stuff like beauty pageant for kids and other stuff and Japan made a lasting commercial trend from it.

It's honestly not that suprising that three different cultures display three different reactions to one international trend.

Yeah, only that winning a war made no difference, as the popularity of chauvinistic pulp right after WW2 readily proofs.

    And the article...sigh

  6. that comment is dumb. dunno about the truth behind the japanese stereotype of boringness but american machismo has its roots way way way before vietnam. probably at least as far back as the revolution.

  7. in fact, by that metric the japanese should super macho what with suffering the most cataclysmic defeat in world history. even then, if anime stuff is a reaction against being to majime why would it manifest specifically as cuteness rather than any other number of over stimulating, exciting things? dumb comment is dumb.

    Terrible article.
I don't know what is worst: the usual "loljapan so wacky" bullshit, or this "we-Japanese-don't-take-it-seriously" nonsense.
I guess that studying the syndromes of a decaying society seems too complicated for the author, even if it means dismissing everything as unimportant.

  9. I beg to differ anonymous commenter. These people commenting about how someone is too "majime" is based on a fixed perception of Japan. The idea that the Japanese cannot be serious and wacky at the same time. We spoke of Japan as a nation of technological squares, and then moved on to calling them those wacky lovable Asians that make gundams.

I think both sides can exist in duality. It's a matter of where the camera is pointed. Japan is still making the humdrum corporate fare within business, and its power as the third largest economy in the world should not be ignored. It's overshadowed though by increasing globalization.

Instead we focus on the odds and ends of society, and that's how we get to panty vending machines and pop idols playing ridiculous game shows.

To point out, I think Sankaku Complex does a good job pointing out how this isn't just a phenomenon in Japan with how crazy the rest of the world gets in their societies. The only difference between a man in Japan raping and killing a school girl and one that's done in America is how the Japanese are shown to be "those pedos that like lolicon" while the Americans say "America is a dangerous country full of gun toting wackos."

  10. Oh shit! NamcoxCapcom vocaloid edition? This random vid makes me more hype than your manliness santa picture from christmas time. And that picture was god tier.

Also what is this thought provocation nonsense? Real men don't need to think. They just walk right in and act on impulse. Rider from Fate/Zero told me so.

  12. >in fact, by that metric the japanese should super macho what with suffering the most cataclysmic defeat in world history

Well, they do have plenty of totally macho fiction - like Golgo, Kozure Okami, Chaosic Rune, Souten Kouro, Vagabond and pretty much all the porn around here.

  15. Nice one desudesu! I'm especially fond of girls having sexy piercings like this one! Really is one good H-mango! The only regret is without the name of the artist...

    ReplyDelete
  16. Thanks for this release! It's a story from "Ima no Watashi niha Kairaku koso Subete" by Jonii Ume (I hope I spelled everything correctly). It's a good book.

  17. Not really a comment on this release.

But I keep getting forwarded to Hentai.ms. The page loads then about 10 seconds later it takes me to hentai.ms and when I try to leave, it won't let me. Even if I click "OK" on that pop up telling me about the hentai inside the site... it doesn't close.

Just wanted to inform you and Grimmjow

    ReplyDelete
  18. I couldn't even make a comment at first due to the damn ad, and this is a little off topic, but in order to stop the Hentai.ms popup box just add "http://www.hentai.ms*" (without the quotes) to the filter on adblock plus.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Why is there that ad/redirect anyways? Kinda makes me want to sweep my computer for bugs again...

    ReplyDelete
  20. What is this popup bullshit? Seriously, you should be a bit more selective about whose scripts you add.

    ReplyDelete
  21. According to TT, there's another Sekirei doujin from c76 by Honey Bump. Will you be translating that too? Btw, it's Tsukiumi again.

  22. whats with that annoying pop up that you got som muc more hentai for me? How annoying! Aren't you making enough money???

    ReplyDelete
  23. Desu is spending his valuable time scanlating fap material for incredibly little reward, the least we could do is click to cancel an ad or two. Haha jesus as I was writing that previous sentence I clicked submit and it told me to not leave the page cause it had more hentai for me, then it also directed me to hentai.ms. I love you and all Desu, but maybe make the ads a little less obtrusive?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Actually, grimmjow was the one who implemented the ad thing (as well as doing the maintenance for the site and stuff). Believe it or not, I don't get a cent from this hentai.ms ad thing D:

I've received some emails regarding this, and I've forwarded the issue to grimmjow. Hopefully the issue will be solved (none of it happened to me, though. Then again, I'm using Firefox with a bunch of anti-ad and content blocker add-ons installed.)

    ReplyDelete
  25. I am too, I just spaced about adding hentai.ms to my add blocker. I don't get the pop up now, but when I did. Sure was annoying. If I had monies, I'd commission something, but I am a broke uni student.

  26. I don't if anybody cares(or is even alerted to his post) by this point but I stumbled upon the name of the author, the mangaka's name is Johnny Ume & this is the 2nd to last story in his(?) vol called Ima no Watashi Niha Kairaku Koso Subete.

  27. Awsome! I've been looking for the artist since ages. A dozen thanks redbone!
