Anona is right. Eunuchs can still get erections, but generally castrati (children who get castrated to keep a beautiful singing voice) cannot. A lot of people think that eunuchs were used to guard women so they didn't sleep with other men, but that isn't true. The real history behind it is that eunuchs were allowable sex partners, being someone that the husband can trust without violating his paternal right to her womb.
