How much do you charge?

From $1.5 to 2.0 per page. The price will increase if the manga is unusually wordy or if it will require additional image editing due to text style (text directly on image). The full cost of translation must be paid before I begin working on it. Larger works can be broken into parts and worked on separately if you prefer.

Transactions will be done via paypal.

What do you translate?

Japanese to English for manga. I mostly get commission requests for adult content, though.

How long do you take?

Depends. If it's a short chapter, I can get it done in a day or two if there aren't anything else in my backlog.

on an unrelated note: should I get the new PS3 slim? I've been dying to play Metal Gear Solid 4 and Devil May Cry 4, but I'm not sure if there are any problems with the new machine, since I haven't had time to read up on them due to internship ;_; (can't wait for my last day of it on 25/9/09).

  1. I really want to play MGS4 as well, I have Devil May Cry 4 on PC. The fact that the PS3 slim can't play PS2 games is what is keeping me from buying it. While the only game I can think of that is exclusive and good for PS3 is MGS4, I have at least a dozen ps2 games I still haven't played since my PS2's CD motor fracked out. Unless they release a unit with backwards compatability and fast I'm just going to get a slim ps2 and mod it since it seems expensive for the fatboy HD trick to do my existing CD dead but otherwise good PS2. The only game on the horizon I would be interested in is God of War 3 so $300 for 2 games... meh. Leaning back to the Wii.

  2. I vote yes bro, I have a 360 and a ps3 and surprisingly my ps3 has gotten more use than my 360. It has a surprisingly large amount of good exclusives (Despite the LOL PS3 HAS NO GAEMS meme), and if you don't have a 360 then the multiplats are a good option too. And if you're a fan of MGS, MGS4 is such a "must play" it's insane. At a new price point, it's a good option if you have some spare cash. I have a backwards compatible PS3 but it'll run you 100 bucks (or so) more, you might as well just buy the slim and a PS2 then anyways since it'll cost the same.

Anywho I'm lovin' my triple. I was actually worried before I bought it that it'd be a waste, but it gets my seal of approval.

Good luck on your internship bro!

  3. Wow, that one is OLD. Strange that nobody bothered to translate that one, I guess. Thanks!

  4. >you might as well just buy the slim and a PS2 then anyways since it’ll cost the same.

Yeah, I already have a PS2 slim. It's been left to gather dust since forever ago (even the rubbery-thingies on the analog sticks are now stiff and sticky). Oh, I used to play Mushihime-sama and many other 2D vertical bullet hell shooter games on it all the time.

I'd love to get an xbox360 as well, if only just for Dream Club (I'd let the pink haired girl tease me all day long(*´Д`)ハァハァ).

  5. I don't see why not, if you have the cash to burn. So far, I haven't heard anything bad about the slims, beyond usual complaints like no backward compatibility (way to shoot yourself in the foot, Sony). Now does seem like a good time to buy, with MGS4, DMC4, Little Big Planet, Disgaea 3, and other cool stuff all being available for the PS3. If you don't have a 360, then you can also pick up titles like Resident Evil 5, Dead Space, Bioshock, and Arkham Asylum.

But again, that all circle back to whether or not you have the funds for it. I don't think I would do any trade-ins for the PS3, unless it's something ancient you don't play anymore.

  6. The Sony is very good at there consoles for each Generation, there where Few to no Bugs with going from ps2 to ps2slim and i would would expect the same from the PS3. The all of the Ps Exclusives are Great games.. but on a sad note MGS4 has only about 5 hours of game play but 20 hours worth of Cut scenes making it more of a movie then a game. But if you are a Fan it Ties up EVERY damn Loose End ever Created.... Even the guy who Marel Beat up and Stole his out fit from MGS1

  7. PS3 HAS NO GAMES

    also suggested game: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valkyria_Chronicles

  8. AnonymousPig: oh, right. The game with the white haired monster tits girl. Man, there's so many games I'd like to try, I'm sure to go broke tomorrow ;_;

  9. Ps3 lacks any backwards compatability is the only real downside most older ps3's don't do it either. I would look at getting the old PS3 most retailers are doing deals and extra controller if you buy the old one so see if you can get a deal on the old one first. But the slim is quieter and runs cooler You may wanna pick up uncharted it's a great Ps3 exclusive

    ReplyDelete
  10. Valkyria Chronicles is fucking awesome, seconding.

Though the way the storyline folds out at first is... Stupid, it's still great.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Oh, and what I meant by my comment about the storyline is nothing serious. The plot isn't dumb or anything, just the opening cutscene has a few annoyances.

    ReplyDelete
  12. The only PS3's with true backward compatibility were the ones sold in the first few months of release. You can only buy them used or on EBay now. Only bad thing I've heard about the PS3 slim so far besides not being backward compatible is that the Blu-ray is slightly slower than the PS3 fat. And besides MGS4, and Valkyria Chronicles I would suggest Little Big Planet and Disgaea 3 Absence of Justice.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Thanks for the Release!

About the PS3, I've wanted to get one to, but I'm still waiting to hear more about the slim myself. There are a few good games now, so it should be worth getting, and so far, the slim has been doing well. However, there is supposed to be a 2.8 or 3.0 setup to worry about, but I haven't done too much research on that.

About the lack of PS2 compatibility, Sony's supposed to be doing really well with the PS2 still, so that's why the BC was removed, so the PS3 doesn't affect PS2 sales, so I heard.

    ReplyDelete
  14. @Z

    >However, there is supposed to be a 2.8 or 3.0 setup to worry about

It's not something to worry about. The ps3 got a new update a few days ago, the 3.0 update. Many features run quicker on the ps3 now and there are less issues, however there are a few cosmetic changes that some people don't like. Hell, a few of them you can even change back to the old style. But people love to bitch. It really isn't a big deal at all.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Get a slim. They will probably add BC back with a download once ps2 sales start dieing off. Since they already patented the tech to do it. I find it really absurd that everyone seems to bitch at Sony for removing BC, but no mentions Microsoft stopped supporting theirs, and its still far from the 100% capability which they promised. At least Sony still gives you an option of buying a new ps2 for cheap.

Microsoft no longer dominates in future exclusives or a big difference in multi-platform quality.

"there is supposed to be a 2.8 or 3.0 setup to worry about." I believe you are talking about firmware, its easily updatability and you have to have the latest to use online functions.

Heavenly sword will be good to play while waiting for GoW3. Ninja gaiden sigma's are also good, 2nd out soon. Demon Soul's looks good if you are in to WRPGS. Dragon Age : Origins also looks good, I have read good things about the port, supposedly Bioware is really taking advantage of the PS3 hardware and it looks like it was natively develop.

  16. Get a PS3. If you don't like it, sell it on.

    Also <3 Valkyria Chronicles!

    ReplyDelete
  17. I got mine on the 25th at Gamestop.
My room's not that well airconditioned, but the thing always runs warm, never hot.

The two oddities I found was infrequent "popping" noise (often heard in old CRTs) cooling down after long hours of gaming, and one instance of a lag effect that got back to normal once it restarted.

These are pretty minor problems that supposedly pose no potential threat, but I found them unnerving for a system just barely a week used.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Ya, i would suggest getting the ps3. One thing about sony is that their updates and price changes are extremely rare and distant. if you decide to wait for the day they become backwards compatable (which could easily be never), you could just endlessly wait forever. so i feel that since the ps3 recently got the price cut, you would be better off just buying it, if you wanted it.

Besides, even if you dont find a good game to play, its still one of the cheapest blu-ray players you can find

    ReplyDelete
  19. I'm getting a Slim, well no known erros, and by the desgin the console will last you ages.

On another note, you know theres a thing called modchip for the PS2 Slim, everyone in croatia has it. I cant remember one person owning genuine games here, why would you improt japanese games when you can just download them and burn them?

Hell even if you dont want to mod it, theres always softmods that allow you to play the pirated games.

On the PS3 note, get one it's full of awesome stuff from japan like White Knight Chronicles, Deamon's Souls, Tales of Vesperia, Valkyrie Chronicles, Ethernal Sonata, Devil May Cry4, Heavenly Sword(It's basically DMC with a woman and your in asia)

    http://vsrecommendedgames.wikia.com/wiki/Playstation_3

You browse the japanese Amazon or something to get what popular in japan right now. Also Persona 5, new Metal Gear, Maybe even Monster Hunter they're all coming to PS3.

So yeah get one. Also get a modchip or softmod for your PS2 slim!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Oh yeah theres also the fact that 428 is gonna get a PS3 release, also Tears to Tiara, the ninja gaiden sigma and sigma 2 basically ninjga gaiden remakes.

The second one is pretty interesting, http://ps3.ign.com/articles/102/1021184p1.html move your gamepad her tits move. INOVATION!

Yeah I'd say buy a PS3 slim, dont get the old ones. A chiped PS2 slim is way better, ALSO CHEAPER.

    ReplyDelete
  21. TRIPPLE POST. IF you have a good gamer PC do you self a favor just pirate all the multiplatform shit, also get a PS3 > PC adapter. Games like Batman and bioshock, resident evil 5, dead space arent worth playing on the PS3 when you have a PC. A games like Dead Space SURE ISNT WORTH THEM 40 BUX.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Yeah man, I'm getting a PS3 slim as well.

    ReplyDelete
  23. i agree with kikimaru, except that if you don't like it, you should give the ps3 away... specifically to me. :D

though, i'll eventually get one anyways just so i can play FFXIII... kinda like how i got a psp just so i could play Crisis Core even with the psp's silly analog stick

so getting a ps3 slim with potential bugs to play a couple of games seems pretty valid (at least to me)
...i should stop this comment here before i start rambling some more

    ReplyDelete
  24. Thanks for all the input, guys :D

I had mine reserved. Can't wait to pick it up later today (along with a nice 32" LCD TV, if I can get one with a good deal) <3

    Anon of Cro:
yeah, my PS2 slim came with a built-in modchip that lets me play burned/pirated PS2 games. I'm surprised the pirates have yet to find a way to get around the PS3, especially given that it's been around for several years now.

Zwagon: You're kinda like me, bro. I bought a PSP ages ago, just to play Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops. None of the other games really appeal me since then, and I pretty much gave away my PSP to my younger brother (he sure enjoys his racing and GTA games on it =3=)

    ReplyDelete
  25. If you're going for a LCD and dont have the money :P Like me buy a Samsung LE32B450 if you do have the money go for a B650 they're awesome.

If you're okay with plazmas and 720p also for playing your PS2 slim and not looking PISS awefull I'd go for the PANASONIC TX-P42X10 or PANASONIC TX-P42X10Y the difference in the MPEG 4 tuner, it's fucking PISS CHEAP for a 42'' screen. It also has 1024×768, but dont be fooled plasma pixels are different from your normal TV pixels.

There a whole science behind buying a HDTV :P

I'd recommend you check out some reviews at

also try http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/selector.php maybe it will help you buy a TV :P

    ReplyDelete
  26. Also it's not really a pirate problem with the PS3 It's more that every single game comes on a bluray disk, even if you could pirate you're still better of buying cheap games for 30$

  28. The PS dual shocks are too sticky to use? Aww, my Gamecube gets put through 5-10 hours of play a week ever since I bought it. & not a SINGLE quirk has shown up in it. And the PS 3, has NO backcomp? The Wii does, but I'm still waiting for the price to drop below $200. I NEVER paid full price or a new nintendo! NES, $40; SNES (don't know but know it was below $100); N64, $99 w/ an extra controller & a game; the Gamecube $99 again, w/ a free Metriod Prime game. So I paid far less for more reliable systems. Only flaw? Poor selection of games.

BTW, I LOVED ToS, sadly the Anime & Manga SUCKED! But the Hentai is undoubtedly better! Presea looks Loli, but she's in her TWENTIES!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Hmmm.seems to have error translating.what does it mean adult onry?

    ReplyDelete
  30. There doesn't seem to be anything particularly wrong with the new slim model (at least not yet), but there have been numerous reports on the 3.00 firmware update damaging some games' save files and/or right out bricking some systems.

Wait a little for a newer firmware that corrects these issues and you're more or less ready to go, anytime.

Let it be known, however, than I'm kind of a 360 fanboy and do not approve of you getting a PS3 before a 360, with its great arcade shooting games ports, technically superior multiplat titles, online gaming, exclusive DLC offers and so on. :P

  31. @Desu, they can modify ps3's (it's just a "computer" at heart of course they can.." to a degree, but nobody has been able to figure it out still.

Infectus is about the only modchip that can successfully change anything having to do with the ps3 still. Not to mention him and their team mentioning how much testing they've done trying to figure it out, to no avail.

  32. I have deep stretch marks will this help to vanish them?
