How much do you charge?

From $1.5 to 2.0 per page. The price will increase if the manga is unusually wordy or if it will require additional image editing due to text style (text directly on image). The full cost of translation must be paid before I begin working on it. Larger works can be broken into parts and worked on separately if you prefer.

Transactions will be done via paypal.

What do you translate?

Japanese to English for manga. I mostly get commission requests for adult content, though.

How long do you take?

Depends. If it's a short chapter, I can get it done in a day or two if there aren't anything else in my backlog.

DDL Abuse

There has been many posts, as well as in EVERY SINGLE post by desudesu, that you not abuse the ddl server links. These links are for BACKUP use only, meaning only use them if you CAN NOT download from the other sharing site links. Apparently nobody has been listening to this as I get thousands of hits a day on the ddl server. Until you decide to listen to my as well as desudesu's reccommendations, I will be turning the ddl server off.

  1. I respect your decesion but I just tried to dl Yoshihisa releases and "All links are dead?"

    Any re-upload chance?

    (Whole Inoue Yoshihisa stuff(bondage only))

    Thnx...

  2. Forget to tell batch torrent link is dead to..

  3. Sadly, this is happening everywhere people are kind enough to provide DDL. I imagine from people too lazy to wait sixty to ninety seconds to download something. My solution is to turn the server off and do a torrent and the links DesuDesu is kind enough to provide or just one or the other. Only leeches suffer.

  4. Fair enough on the DDL rape, but reupload the batch .torrent somewhere else :(

  5. I don't even know why people bother with the ddl - it's so slow. I've never gotten any dl rate faster than 50-70 KB/s. You'd be better off waiting the minute and downloading it from the uploading sites, upload, mediafire, rapidshare.

  6. Decision respected, but for some reason certain file are hard to get from upload..prefer using mediafire( that the only site fast enough for my pc)

  7. Hell, just get nodelay for Firefox.

Don't know if this is feasible, but I might suggest having a DDL link ready that you could simply edit in if you get complaints about the download links being dead.

  8. As Setebos said, people use the DDL links because they don't want to wait for the downloads to load on the sites, and due to the download throttling on said sites. I used to use them too, until you re-started using MediaFire, which doesn't have the wait or throttling for free users of Rapidshare, Uploading, or Depositfiles.

    In conclusion, use MediaFire more.

  9. aww =[. i understand why youre doing this . its the abusers fault why i cant use the online reader.(my comp has been dead for awhile now and im forced to use my ps3). i just hope it can be up soon for the ones like me who need it

  10. I think that it would interest many FireFox users of the addon "Skipscreen"

it basically just skips the waiting times on most file sharing sites.

  11. Thank you for understanding. I will turn it on again in a few days but I will no longer put ddl up until a few days after the release, that way most people have the file already. Also, I do the mediafire links which is why they take extra time to be upped.

  12. I'm a DDL rapist.

I just have a shitty connection, and can queue and resume the DDLs. I can live without 'em.

    I'm an impotent DDL rapist.

  14. I'd use the non-ddl links if they didn't use the horrible non-service that is lix.in
Shitty framing with ultra-annoying ads and an extra click? No thanks.

    ヾ(゚д゚)ノ゛

You get ads from lix.in? I've never experienced anything like that. They just add a tiny frame over the screen, that's all.

I guess I should try posting stuff without going through lix.in or something. I only started using that because some guy used his bot on this site (or something), that would automatically report all the links to their respective uploading sites, causing the files to be deleted the next day.

    ReplyDelete
  16. @ruckroll: I've never had any problems with lix.in before nor any ads either. Maybe your comp is infected with adware.

@desudesu: well, the links haven't disappeared yet, but that's because it's really too early to tell. (downloading distorted portrait as I type)

Well it was good while it lasted thanks for that. I have a suggestion? Why not use mediafire more often than now? By more often I mean every single time you upload a commission? They rarely have problems and they're a lot easier to down load from than deposit files and rapidshare.

    ReplyDelete
  18. @desudesu
I tried again and I guess it's only rapidshare that has ads via lix.in for some reason; it's a huge annoying in-tab popup that blocks the download links and requires me to scroll over to hit the X. I've never gotten it via non-lix.in rapidshare links. http://imgur.com/Jy7u.png if you're curious.

Anyway thanks for trying without lix.in. IIRC SaHa used something similar for the same reason for a bit but stopped because it didn't stop the links from being reported.

  19. For the batch torrent v.3 try searching for 'desudesu' on isohunt.
    You'll find it right away!

thx for all your efforts !!

  20. uploading.com rarely works, it makes you wait for 90 seconds and when you can finally press the button, it starts over again without sending me the file.
DepositFiles has this annoying "all dl slots for your country are taken" going on really often.
This forces me to use RapidShare where I usually have to wait 10-15 minutes because I've already used the quota for something else.
This leaves the DDL links as the final and best alternative.

    (;゚ Д゚)

I didn't know about that. Guess I'll be dropping mediafire links too, from now on. I didn't really like mediafire because they behave just like uploading for you, Bluntobject. 8 out of 10 times, the mediafire download page would refresh itself when I click the download link.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I get the same as Bluntobject. I don't mind the 30sec to 60sec wait per file and I would rather give back by using upload.com, but the actual download within the links you post do not work. They just loop for me too. I've gotten links from other sites using upload and this doesn't happen, just links from your site. It's not a complaint (I'm grateful for all the releases you give), just something you may want to look into and fix.

  23. I never can download from uploading.com

it always said that my country download limit is exceeded, it always like that for one month.
rapid, MU and MF is my only choice.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I won't mind having no DDL, but please at least put a Media fire link to download...

-I just can't stand the speed of Rapidshit for non premium user
-deposit file was kinda nice but i often got very slow download speed and “all dl slots for your country are taken” warning message...
-for the uploading link, i don't know if it just me, but everytime i try to use it, all the slot for my country was already used and forced me to sign up for premium account :(

Never got any problem with MU or MF link though

"Guess I’ll be dropping mediafire links too"

What? Most posters said they preferred MF. Can you please put MF links for future releases? It works better for me, and I should think, most other people.

    ReplyDelete
  27. "Man, I'm a DDL rapist."
I always use DDL to download the pics.
But I also like to use MU and MF to download.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Don't drop Mediafire, goddamnit, it's just about the only service that works as it should.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Usually, I can download from Uploading. Yes, the wait of 90 sec sucks but I think it is justified as long it helps Desudesu in earning a bit money. It is a pain in the ass that sometimes this one bitches and the download link is not available. Just a 2nd try and everything is fine.
    - Depositfiles sometimes give this shitty “all dl slots for your country are taken” message.
I don't like Mediafire because it doesn't like me. In 50/50 times it seems to work.
Rapidshare is reliable but if I'm stuck to this I usually have to wait 15 min for another download.
I have great access to megaupload. Yeah, premium account! But you really don't have to use it just to comfort me.
In the end, I don't really mind which upload site you use. I will always try my best to download from your prefered site.

    ReplyDelete
  30. uploading never works for me, df only works in the night, I use rapidshare whenever possible, the only time when I use ddl is when I missed several releases (and I only dl it one at a time)

Greeds who want to leech old releases should use lurk, really.

    ReplyDelete
  31. usually i use a mediafire (since uploading and deposit is suck), and i cannot see why some people bother to use the ddl since the speed is so slow. oh well as long as mediafire linkis fine it's okay for me

    ReplyDelete
  32. Use Mediafire. Uploading.com totally blows. Rapidshare doesn't work for me actually but DepositFiles is a hit or miss. Megaupload is also pretty good. Oh and lastly the lix.in frame is FUCKING ANNOYING!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Uploading.com doesn't work. I wait for 90 seconds, press the download button, and it reloads the countdown page again. I did this three times and still nothing.

    ReplyDelete
  34. In my experience this is the best order
    Mediafire(When it works)>Megaupload>Rapidshare>Uploading.

Mediafire has no wait and if the dl link doesn't load just refresh and on the 2nd time I usually get it. Megaupload has a wait time but no dl limit so what I usually do is open up a bunch I want at once, enter all the captchas and then as soon as one is finished I can immediately dl the next one. Uploading used to work for me but now I wait the 90 seconds and the dl button never appears. I also don't like how it messes up the formatting for file names.

I always thought that if you put the ddl link right there, even if they're a last resort people will use them first. You need to hide them on another page or make them harder to get to or something.

Anyway thanks for the quality translations!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I agree with your decision but I guess its human nature in a sense. If you give away something free, people are sure to grab it as quickly as they can. A good example is when you give away free premium accounts, you see how fast they go. DDL links are no different, impatient people will abuse them, all because they can and its there. I won't lie I used the ddl links a few times but I mainly used depositFiles or mediafire. Upload was just shitty as hell.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Also a small suggestion, maybe you should only put DDL links for old releases where the links no longer work.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Why don't people just pay for an account on one of those services? If you're old enough to view this material and aren't living in a third world country, you should be able to afford an account.

I can afford it but I'm just really trying to cut corners. I had a megaupload account for backing up my files and it was awesome.

No one pays for content on the internet. You should know that.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Well, MediaFire's still the best. Closest thing to a DDL that you can get.
No wait times, no restrictions on concurrent downloads and no hourly limit either.
    MediaFire RULES!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  44. upload.com? was it called like that? neverworks for me, NEVER!, the same with rapidsh***.
So the only choices for me are MU,MF,or ddl.
But then again I used MU for massive dl.
So my only options are either MF OR ddl.
    If MF link doesnt present....

  45. My take:

Upload, never ever works. Ignores the link.
DepoFiles, occasionally. Would try n click it 1st, hopefully getting u some mojo, but if it doesn't I won't bother retrying cos it wont work at all then.
    MediaFire, great stuff, best still.
RapidShare, I find it reliable and good personally. I prefer to dl big files via RS. (100mb above)
MU, rarely doesn't work, less reliable and slightly slower than RS.

    I have a 512kb connection. (thats like 50kbs)

    ----------------

About your server, set it up so that you can have ONE connection per IP, cap at 64 kbps. People who are from... 3rd world countries, and cant afford shit (refering to LightningSaix's comment) will use it gladly, and when the links go down, even the 1gig/milisec people will take 64kbps over 0kbps. Also, they wont bother with such a slow connection.

    win win!
